Aphthasol is a paste used orally for the treatment of aphthous ulcers (canker sores).Apply Aphthasol as soon as you detect the appearance of cankers. Use Aphthasol until sores heal completely. If the desired effect is not reached within 10 days, consult your doctor.
Avoid touching your eyes after the use of Aphthasol paste. Rinse eyes with water immediately if any of the paste gets into them. Wash your hands immediately after using the amlexanox paste.
Warnings Precautions
If you have a history of unusual or allergic reactions to amlexanox, consult your doctor before using Aphthasol. If you are allergic to substances such as preservatives or dyes, notify your doctor. The effect of amlexanox on humans has not been studied sufficiently. Animal studies do not suggest that it may cause birth defects or other problems.
Missing a Dose
In case of a missed dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule if it is almost time for your next dose. Never take two doses at the same time.
Possible Side Effects
Burning, stinging, or pain in the application area, inflammation of the mucous membranes, diarrhea, nausea are among the less serious side effects of Aphthasol. These normally subside in the course of the treatment. If any of these symptoms persist or become particularly irritating, consult your doctor.
Storage
Do not expose to heat and direct light. Do not store in damp places. Aphthasol may break down if exposed to heat and moisture. Do not use the medicine after its expiration date or if no longer needed. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
In case of a suspected overdose, seek medical help immediately.
