Atarax

Atarax is used to relieve anxiety and tension caused by psychoneurosis. Sometimes it is administered as complementary medication for organic disease conditions associated with anxiety. The recommended dosage for adults is 50-100 mg daily. Children under 6 years of age should take 50 mg daily in evenly spaced doses and those over 6 years of age 50-100 mg daily in regular doses.

Warnings Precautions

It is not clear whether Atarax is passed onto breast milk. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, consult your doctor before using Atarax.

Missing a Dose

In case of a missed dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule if it is almost time for your next dose. Never take two doses at the same time.

Possible Side Effects

The side effects of Atarax are normally mild and subside over time. Dry mouth and drowsiness are among the possible side effects of Atarax.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place. Do not expose to light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Overdose

Hypersedation is among the most common symptoms of an Atarax overdose. In case of a suspected overdose, seek medical help immediately.

More Information

Atarax may cause drowsiness. Exercise caution while driving or operating machinery.
