Bentyl is used for the treatment of stomach, intestine and bladder cramps or spasms. Take Bentyl exactly as directed. Bentyl should not be taken more or less frequently than prescribed as this may increase the risk of side effects. Do not overdose or take for a longer period of time than instructed.
Warnings Precautions
Do not terminate the treatment with Bentyl before consulting your doctor. Gradual reduction of the dosage may be required before the treatment is terminated. Vomiting, sweating and dizziness are among the withdrawal symptoms of Bentyl. If you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant during treatment, consult your doctor before taking Bentyl.
Missing a Dose
In case of missing a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule if it almost time for your next dose. Never take two doses at the same time.
Possible Side Effects
Confusion or memory loss; constipation; difficulty in urination; drowsiness; dryness of the mouth, nose, throat, or skin; unusual excitement, agitation, restlessness, or irritability are among the possible side effects of Bentyl.
Storage
Store at controlled room temperature between 15o- 30oC (59o – 86oF). Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, dilated pupils, hot dry skin, dizziness, dryness of the mouth, difficulty in swallowing are among the symptoms of a Bentyl overdose. In case of a suspected overdose, seek medical help immediately.
More Information
Bentyl may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Make sure you are aware of the side effects of the medicine before driving, operating machinery and avoid performing hazardous activities if you feel dizzy.
