Clarinex

clarinexClarinex is an antihistamine used for the relief of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) symptoms. Clarinex contains a long-acting tricyclic histamine antagonist based on selective H1-receptor histamine antagonist activity. Clarinex is administered orally in the form of tablets. It is normally taken once daily before or after eating. Follow prescription directions carefully. Your doctor or pharmacist should explain any part that is unclear to you. Take Clarinex exactly as directed. Do not overdose.

Warnings Precautions

Before order Clarinex, tell your doctor if you are allergic to antihistamines, or if you suffer from kidney or liver disease. You may need dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment, or you may not be allowed to take Clarinex at all if you suffer from any of the above listed conditions. Clarinex falls under the C FDA pregnancy category meaning that the effects of Clarinex on the fetus are unknown. Do not use Clarinex without consulting your doctor if you are pregnant or may become pregnant during treatment. Clarinex is passed onto breast milk and may affect nursing infants. If you are breast-feeding, do not use Clarinex without consulting your doctor first.

Missing a Dose

In case of a missed dose, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose and revert to your regular schedule if it is almost time for your next dose. Never take more than one dose at a time.

Possible Side Effects

Side effects have rarely been reported. If there are any or they change in intensity, inform your doctor immediately. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Clarinex. Dry mouth, fatigue, sleepiness, sore throat are among the most common side effects. Less common side effects may include: dizziness, dry throat, flu-like symptoms, muscle pain, nausea. Acute allergic reaction, hives, itching, rapid heartbeat, rash, shortness of breath, swelling are among the rare side effects.

Storage

Store at room temperature. Protect from heat. Keep out of reach of children. Keep Clarinex in its original container. Keep the container tightly closed.

Overdose

Little is known about the effects of a Clarinex overdose. However, any medication taken in excess may have serious consequences. Rapid heartbeat and drowsiness may be symptoms of a Clarinex overdose. If you suspect you have overdosed, seek medical help at once.

More Information

Drive and operate machinery with caution if you are taking Clarinex. Although unlikely, Clarinex may cause dizziness or drowsiness. If you experience any of these symptoms avoid hazardous activities.
