Flextra DS

Flextra DS is an analgesic and antipyretic used for the relief of pain, headache, and fever. Flextra DS may also be administered in order to alleviate pain with respect to certain types of arthritic conditions. Flextra DS may also be used on the advice of your doctor for the treatment of other conditions. Flextra DS is administered orally, usually every 4 hours. The recommended dosage is determined by age, medical condition, and response to the treatment. Follow strictly your doctor’s instructions. Do not overdose or or take this medicine over a longer period of time than prescribed (e.g., 10 days for adults, 5 days for children, or 3 days when administered to treat fever); Persistent pain or fever may be symptoms of a more serious medical condition and other medication may need to be prescribed on the advice of your doctor.

Warnings Precautions

In case of medical history of lung problems (e.g., bronchitis, emphysema), glaucoma, enlarged prostate or any allergies, notify your doctor. Flextra DS may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Exercise caution when driving or operating machinery. Flextra DS may cause liver damage and alcohol consumption should be limited during treatment. Symptoms of liver damage include nausea, stomach pain, dark urine and may be caused by combining alcohol and Flextra DS on a daily basis. Children may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug (e.g., increased excitability) and caution is advised in such cases. It is not clear whether Flextra DS is passed onto breast milk. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, consult your doctor first before taking Flextra DS. Check with your doctor or pharmacist for more detailed information.

Missing a Dose

In case of missing a dose of Flextra DS prescription muscle relaxant, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose and take only your next regularly scheduled dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Never take two doses at the same time in order to catch up for a mixed dose.

Possible Side Effects

Flextra DS may cause drowsiness or nausea. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Skin redness, swelling, persistent fever, stomach pain, yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, unusual weakness are among the rare but more severe side effects of Flextra DS. If you detect any of these or other symptoms not listed above, seek your doctor’s advice immediately.

Storage

Store at room temperature of between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C). Do not expose to direct light and moisture.

Overdose

Troubled breathing, extreme nervousness or restlessness, flushed skin, hallucinations, racing or irregular heartbeat, seizures, shortness of breath, fatigue, unstable temperature, unusual muscle stiffness, vomiting (in combination with the above-listed symptoms) are among the signs of a Flextra DS overdose. In case of a suspected overdose, seek medical help immediately.

ALCOHOL WARNING: If you consume more than 3 alcoholic beverages per day, check with your doctor whether you should take Flextra DS or other medicines for alleviating pain and fever. Flextra DS may cause liver damage. Alcohol consumption during the treatment with Flextra DS may increase the risk of liver damage.
Refrain from driving, operating machinery or performing activities until you have become accustomed to the side effects of Flextra DS. Using this medicine alone, in combination with other medicines, or with alcohol may decrease your ability to perform potentially dangerous tasks. Consult with your doctor first before combining Flextra DS with additional acetaminophen. Your doctor will provide you with information on what medicines might contain acetaminophen.
