Motrin is used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. This medication should be used to relieve mild to moderate pain. In some cases, Motrin may be prescribed for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.
The total recommended daily dose of Motrin is 3200 mg and should not be exceeded. If cases of gastrointestinal toxicity, Motrin Tablets should be administered with food or milk.
Warnings Precautions
If you have a history of hypersensitivity to the drug, or suffer from nasal polyps, angioedema and bronchospastic reactivity to aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents, you should not undergo treatment with Motrin. Serious gastrointestinal toxicity such as bleeding, ulceration, and perforation have been reported to occur, in some cases without any preliminary warning symptoms.
Missing a Dose
In case of missing a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule if it is almost time for your next dose. Never take two doses of Motrin Tablets at the same time.
Possible Side Effects
Adverse gastrointestinal reactions are among the most common side effects of Motrin Tabets. Blurred and/or diminished vision, scotomata, and/or changes in color vision have also been reported.
Storage
Store at controlled room temperature of 20?° to 25?°C (68?° to 77?°F).
Overdose
Vomiting is necessary in cases of an overdose in order to empty the stomach and medical help should be sought at once.
More Information
If you experience gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding, blurred vision or other eye symptoms, skin rash, weight gain, or edema during the treatment with Motrin, notify your doctor immediately.
