Nasacort

nasacort-aq Nasacort Nasal Spray comes in the form of an unscented, thixotropic, water-based, metered-dose pump spray formulation unit. It contains a microcrystalline suspension of triamcinolone acetonide in an aqueous medium. It is approved by the FDA for the treatment of nasal congestion, itchy runny nose, and sneezing – typical symptoms of seasonal and year round allergies. Nasacort Nasal Spray is a solution to be inhaled through the nose one to four times a day at regular intervals. Gently blow your nose to clear nasal passages before using triamcinolone. Do not blow your nose for 15 minutes after inhalation.

Warnings Precautions

The absorption of Nasacort may result in immune system deficiency and thus lower the ability of your body to deal with infections. In some cases of infection the use of Nasacort is not recommended. If you have a viral, bacterial, or fungal infection of any kind, inform your doctor before using Nasacort. Nasacort Nasal Spray belongs to the C FDA pregnancy category meaning that its effect on the fetus may be harmful. It is unclear whether Nasacort is passed onto breast milk. Thus, if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during treatment, or if you are breast-feeding, do not use Nasacort before consulting your doctor first. Nasacort Nasal Spray is not approved for use by children younger than 12 years of age.

Missing a Dose

In case of a missed dose, apply Nasacort as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Never administer 2 doses at the same time.

Possible Side Effects

The possible side effects of Nasacort include irritation, stinging, burning, or dryness of the nasal passages. Sneezing, nosebleed, headache, lightheadedness, loss of taste, throat irritation or nausea have also been reported to occur. Notify your doctor should these symptoms continue or become particularly irritating. Persistent nose or throat irritation/soreness, white patchy areas are unlikely but should be reported promptly. Among the more rarely reported side effects of Nasacort administration are: broken or damaged nasal membranes, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness, vision changes. In case of these or other symptoms not listed above contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

Store at room temperature of between 20 and 25?°C (68 to 77?°F). Do not expose to direct sunlight and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.

Overdose

Although an overdose is unlikely to occur, seek immediate medical kelp if you suspect an overdose.

More Information

Nasacort may cause immune system deficiency thus making it difficult for your body to fight off infection. Avoid exposing yourself to known sources of infection and stay away from people with chicken pox, measles, or any other type of infection. Clean thoroughly areas where dust or furballs may have accumulated thus aggravating your condition. Avoid items or activities to which you have previously had an allergic reaction.
